Bigg Boss Hindi season 6 is the sixth season of the Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss, which is broadcast on Colors TV channel. Bigg Boss is the Indian version of the TV series Big Brother. The season kicks off on October 7, 2012. The sixth season was launched as Parivarik season with the slogan Gujarati Alag che! (English: it’s different). The makers claim that Bigg Boss 6 rivals will be presented with a cleaner “family” image. The cash prize was reduced to 5 million yen ($66,400) with $500,000 going to the “most interesting” roommate every week from week 6. The prize was discontinued after four weeks for unknown reasons. Atul Kapoor is the voice of Bigg Boss from season 1 to present.
Purpose-built Bigg Boss house located in Lonavla, Maharashtra. It was designed by famous art director Sabu Cyril. The house was built on an area of 15,000 square feet. Taking on a more refined and warm feel with its red and white tones, it takes on a completely different look than the Bigg Boss house from last year. The January 12 finale episode had a TVR of 4.4 (TV Rating Score), making it the highest-rated non-fiction show of the week. The final also had a better result than last season, dropping to 3.6 TVR. In the fourth season, the finale rated the TVR a 6.7. The program recorded an average of 3.3 TVRs in the week ending January 12, compared with 2.8 in the week ending January 12.
